Playing podcast on HomePod 

There are mainly two options available for you to play podcasts on HomePod, one with AirPlay 2 and another with Siri route.

With AirPlay 2-

And enjoy listening to your favorite podcast.

With Siri route, just command “hey Siri, play the (podcast name) podcast.” And it will automatically start playing from the point you left it off.

After you are done with these you can create a group for your speakers if you have more than one and as long as they are registered in the Home app. Then just command “hey Siri , play my latest podcast on Sonos”.
