With the onset of the current pandemic and people forced to stay behind closed bars, Google decided to release a ‘Google Assistant hygiene song’ to help people stay extra cautious. Google’s take on this pandemic is basically Google Assistant singing a jingle to remind its users to wear a mask and wash hands!

Sing The Mask Song!

More or less akin to a parody, the new voice assistant hygiene song is quite humorous. Inspired by the famous children’s’ jingle Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, this song goes is a riff of the same.

In spite of the fact that this song is solely released due to the spread of COVID-19, to our surprise, it doesn’t mention the word ‘COVID-!9’ even once!  However, Google Assistant does make it a point to inform its listeners that an efficient mask must cover the mouth and nose.

All you have to do is say, “sing the mask song,” and the Google Assistant hygiene song starts playing. Google Assistant also starts to sing the Google Assistant hygiene song when asked if it wears a mask, or when simply asked to sing a song.

Wash, Wash, Wash Your Hands

The mask song isn’t the first ever song added by Google Assistant to its collection of eccentric, informative songs. It also has a song based on the tunes of ‘Row, Row, Row Your Boat’.

The lyrics go, “Wash, Wash, Wash Your Hands,” alerting its listeners to keep washing their hands till the song ends. The duration of the song basically acts as the time constraint one must follow while washing their hands.

The Google Assistant hygiene song also consists of lyrics that convey how to wash your hands and for how long. No wonder, it is clearly aimed at families, especially ones with young kids.

It also plays for 40 seconds, based on the information released by WHO, which stated that one must wash their hands for 40 seconds at the least during this pandemic.

The Google Assistant hygiene song can be particularly handy for families, especially ones with children. If your child is young enough to find this song amusing, he might even just start to implement what the song’s preaching.

The lyrics appear on the screen as well! They go like, “When in public, wear a mask. Just a teeny, weeny task. It helps keep us safe and sound; health and care all around. On your mouth and on your nose, good to cover both of those!”

Of course, there’s a quirky inclusion of relevant emojis in the lyrics displayed as well.

Rapid Developments and Strict Measures

This isn’t the first time that the voice tech industry has been coming up with brand new developments pertaining to the pandemic. Google recently released an update to allow Netflix streaming on Nest Hub. Voice assistants have been actively updating and adding features related to the pandemic since March.

It even introduced household contacts to make communication easy, and numbers more accessible. During these tough times, digitized communication is all that people are relying on, and Google’s leaving no stone unturned to revamp it.

Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant – all have government authorized answers, tips, and tricks related to the COVID-19 virus. They advise you how to wear a mask, wash your hands, and stay healthy.

Both Google Assistant and Alexa removed any government unauthorized application from their base, that spread misinformation regarding the onset of the virus. However, the reputed healthcare organization MayoClinic did publish its voice app on Alexa.

It features its own personal guidelines on how to stay healthy during these tough times.

Voice War!

To combat Google Assistant, Alexa also released a musical song to the CDC’s suggestion of at least 20 seconds. It’s basically a rival track using the original tune. The best part is that Google and Amazon seem to have a voice-war, with an amusing rap-battle going on between both. At least, the battle’s a ‘clean’ one during this pandemic!
