Guide to how you can use Alexa to check and respond to your emails

Getting too much email can make things messed up for you to manage and due to this you can miss your important emails, newsletters and offers. But there’s a good for you if you are a owner of Amazon Alexa. Yes, with the last year’s upgradation your assistant is now able to read and check your emails. Now you must think how you can enable Alexa’s email checking features. For that you need to go through some simple set up.

How to set up your email with Alexa.

The very first thing you need to do is install the app and then open it. After that- 

    • Click more placed in the bottom bar.
    • Select settings.
    • Scroll down and choose the option calendar and email.

Then you can either add an account or select an account you’ve already set up.

However, if you have already set up any calendar with Alexa, you will notice your  accounts there. And in case, you haven’t set up then click the plus sign icon and follow the further instructions to sign in.

After that, you will given three options there but only two will be available for email. Only Microsoft and Google emails account can be sync up with Alexa. Along with these two options you will get the Apple option as well but it’s not available for emails.

After choosing one option give the necessary credentials and you have to give Amazon access to your emails. And then you are done.

And if you already did set your Google account up previously then 

    1. Head over to calendar and email option under settings section.
    2. Tap on your account.
    3. Go to the email settings, and click link email account.
    4. Enter your account credentials.

And you are all done. Now you can totally control your emails with cool commands like “alexa, check my recent email.”
