Google Home made a comeback as a smart home platform

 Google smart home made an entrance again as Google’s smart home developer platform and toolset. Google intended to name the platform as Google Home in honor of it’s contribution in bringing Google smart home ecosystem. In an announcement blogpost Google has stated that they have introduced new features, tools to guide smart home developers to catch with Matter which is an open and universal smart home protocols used in making, building and setting smart home devices up. 

By bringing the Google Smart Home developer platform under the roof of Google Home aiming to simplify the process of allowing  more companies to build on the same platform. 

Google smart home ecosystem senior director of products Michele Turner stated in an announcing event “By bringing our platform and tools under the same roof, it gives us a simpler way to show you why and how integrating your devices with Google Home makes them more accessible and helpful across the Google ecosystem,” “Launching early next year, you’ll have access to our new Google Home Developer Center that will have everything you need to learn and build smart home devices, applications, and automation with Google. It’s a total redesign of our developer site and console, focused on major upgrades to navigation, and new self-serve tools for both developers and their business teams.”

With Matter protocol Google is aiming developers to adopt Matter as their default protocol as it will contribute towards easing technical and regulatory complications and it will result in lot of flexibility while customizing products. Also, it will automatically speed up the whole process of building or settings up any device. Besides these, Google also has introduced Google home mobile SDK, new smart home directory and more.
